Long weekends are just never long enough

Journal Entry: Sat Mar 22, 2008, 3:43 AM
2 out of the 4 day long weekend are already gone...I wish I had more time off. Haven't been up to much lately besides working, studying, eating, sleeping, shitting, ya know, usual stuff. I went up to Brisbane for a few days a couple of weeks ago.

Hopefully tomorrow or Monday I'll get out and get stuck into taking some more pics. Need to get my car washed...oh I finally got the front dint repaired too from when that dickhead knocked into me. Had the run around with insurance companies for a bit because I refused to let it go anywhere else but BMW.

Other than that, just playing World of Warcraft at the moment...not much changes, lol.

Strolling around Melbourne

Journal Entry: Wed Feb 13, 2008, 3:17 AM
I've never been to Melbourne as a tourist, it was always with my dad as a kid in the truck so I never got to walk down the city streets. Yesterday work sent me to Melbourne to deliver the documents we have been working on for almost 4 weeks straight so I was so happy when I finally got to hand them over. I worked out today that in those weeks I have done 81.5 hours overtime on top of my usual weekly 9-5 work. No wonder I'm feeling so fucking tired!

I don't understand how the taxis work in Melbourne. I was trying to hail a taxi but no one would stop!!! I was like wtf??? So I ended up walking from one side of the city to the other to get around because taxis just weren't stopping. I couldn't understand if I had to hail them with their lights on or off, cause sometimes they would have people with them and other times they wouldn't, yet they had their light on. Just before I had to go to the airport though I managed to get a taxi and I asked him wtf is wrong with Melbourne taxis. He explained to me that you have to go to a taxi rank as taxi drivers think you are only going a short distance if you hail one off the side of the road. So I told him that he is lucky he stopped then since he got a $45 ride to the airport.

It was weird seeing trams, and having to do right hand turns from left lanes. I think I would be paranoid something was going to smack into me driving around Melbourne. They had some horse and carriages around though so that was cool. Not much traffic, it reminded me more of Brisbane than Sydney. Also there were tons of little ally ways between buildings. In Sydney all the buildings are touching each other. Tons of cafes down these ally ways as well, it was interesting to see the difference in the set up compared to Sydney. The airport is in the middle of nowhere though, and the drive from the airport to the city wasn't eventful so I didn't get the big 'Welcome to Melbourne' excitement that I thought I would get.

I didn't have too much time down there so I took only a few pics. Brought a new wallet and watch, and went to a new store called Twisted Toys and got this cool boustier bag which looks pretty funky. Got a few postcards as well to put up at my desk at work.

Melbourne is a nice city...I guess you just need to know some of the rules before going there like the taxi rank rule, lol, so you don't go mad. I'll upload some pics for you to check out as well. I want to go down there for a week...cruise down there and have my car at least, lol.

Lazy day...

Journal Entry: Fri Nov 30, 2007, 5:58 PM
Just having a lazy day today...it's pissing down rain outside and has been all night which is relaxing. I forgot to bring my budgie in, so one of my cats walked all over me during the night and then walked outside to the bird, lol. The bird didn't seem to mind a bit of water though.

Last weekend I had a BBQ at my place with a few of my work girlfriend's. Was pretty good to catch up outside of work. My physco neighbour upstairs was having one as well across the road, and she wanted us to join her and her crazed churchie friends but there was obviously not enough seating space (thankfully) so we went to another BBQ area along with another neighbour of mine. Karla brought over her camera and after the BBQ we chilled at my place while my cat Fluffy was being pampered, brushed, kisses, hugged and photographed, lol. I've uploaded a few for you to check out.

About my crazed churchie neighbours upstairs...I had to write a letter to them during the week to let them know that their praying and chanting at 5am on top of their lungs out their window isn't acceptable to the rest of the people living in this apartment block. They are so damn noisey! They wear heels in their house while they have floor boards and all you can hear is every single foot step. They pray and chant at all hours of the morning with every window and door open...they must be trying to recruit, lol! Also another weekend they were singing on top of their lungs to try and get as much attention as possible from the people having BBQ's in the park across the road. I have contacted my real estate about it and they are following up with strata, because the noise is just ridiculous.

I am going to my dad's for dinner tomorrow night and I have to take some photo's of his wife's medical clinic as I'm creating a website for her...if any of the stuff I create is half decent lol I'll post some on here.

Lastly, I've been sucked into the Facebook vortex so come past and check me out if ya want. [link]

Sculptures by the Sea

Journal Entry: Sun Nov 4, 2007, 3:08 AM
Just a quick update today...went out to Bondi to check out the 'Sculptures by the Sea'. I had seen pictures of some of the sculptures every year but never ended up making the trip out there.

There were tons of people, tons of flies, and it was boiling hot but thankfully it was a good day and I got some good pics.

My arms and neck got burnt pretty bad even though I put sunscreen on. Wasn't feeling the best when I got home so I crashed out for a few hours. I have a seatbelt tan on my tits now from cruisin with the top down, lol.

The Sculptures by the Sea is on for the next 2 weeks until the 18th of November I think. I suggest ya check it out.

Justin Timberlake

Journal Entry: Fri Nov 2, 2007, 4:22 PM
During the week Justin Timberlake was playing in Sydney. I wouldn't say I'm a huge fan but I do have his latest album...can't say it stays in my CD player in my car for any longer than a few songs lol. Anyway a girlfriend of mine at work had a spare ticket, so on the day of the concert she asked if I wanted it for $50...why not??? So I said yep sure thing and off I go to JT.

Before going in they check your bags, and even get rid of water bottles! Heaven forbid if a bottle of water hit that pretty face of JT's right? Lol! I wanted to take my camera in and get some shots, because last time I went to Gwen Stefani (with Gym Class Heroes supporting woohoo) and I left my camera at home thinking that I wasn't allowed to take it in. But tons of people had their cameras! However I took out my batteries and memory card from my camera and put them in my wallet. The security chicky picked up my camera and before she could utter a word about confiscating it, I showed her that I 'forgot' my batteries so she said 'oh well it wont work then, no problem' and I skipped my way into the JT concert, put back the batteries and memory stick and I was on my way, lol.

The pics I took weren't all that great cause its hard to do anything from a distance while everyone around you is dancing and knocking you. The conert itself I would rate 6/10. He sang way too many slow songs which bored the shit outta me. Some of th slow songs are ok, but I wanted to see him up dancing around n shit. He also played way too many instruments...I guess to show his 'fans' that he is multi talented and is past the N*Sync era. But seeing him playing instruments wasn't what I went to the concert for. I was expecting his last song to be Sexyback...it was his 2nd last song, and his encor song was some slow song and I'm like WTF? People were leaving half way through the last song because it was a huge BAM IN UR FACE finish. Gwen Stefani's finish of Wind It Up was awesome compared to Justin.

Anyway I've picked out a few pics I thought might be somewhat ok. *shrugs* At least now I don't have to hear 15 year old chicks dressed like hookers yelling out 'JT I LOVE YOU!' Lol, was good for a laugh though I must admit. :)
